Sonax Headlight Restoration Kit is perfect for cost-effective manual treatment of plastic headlight covers that have yellowed and matted lenses. In two simple steps, yellowing, matting, and fine scratches are removed before the treated surfaces are permanently sealed and protected from further fading. This application restores the original clarity of the headlights. Besides enhancing the appearance of the headlights and increasing the overall value of the vehicle, the improved light output ensures greater driving safety through better visibility. Suitable for two applications on two headlights each.
Straightening:
Depending on the degree of soiling, clean the headlights during a normal vehicle wash or simply wipe them with Sonax windscreen clear (item no. 03382410) and a soft cloth. Apply tape to the edges of the bonnet, mudguard, and bumper. Attach the slightly coarser P3000 sanding pad (colourless adhesive back) to the enclosed grey sanding pad holder, moisten with water, and apply light pressure to the headlights until an even, slightly matte surface is formed. Always keep the surface moistened with water. Then remove the abrasive residue with one of the enclosed polishing fleeces. Repeat the procedure with the ultra-fine P5000 sanding pad (red adhesive side).
Polishing:
Apply some polish (polish 1) to the small polishing sponge and polish with light pressure on the head until the desired clarity is achieved. In between, always wipe with a polishing fleece cloth for the best results. Apply more polish if necessary.
Sealing:
Tear open a bag of headlight sealant and apply the liquid to a polishing fleece. Rub the already smoothed and polished surfaces with a damp cloth and wipe with a clean and dry polishing fleece after a short period. One bag is sufficient for two headlights.
Please note: Do not get the sealant wet within the next 2-3 hours. Do not wash the vehicle within the first 2 days after sealing.
